Finland

Hailouto is an island in the Bottnic sea bosom. It has a diameter of approximately 35 km and is inhabited by approximately 1000 humans. The inhabitants work mainly within the ranges agriculture and fishery. The island is for instance a bird protected area.

 

High country (Swedish Hogland, Finnish Suursaari) is called an island in the Finnish sea bosom of the Baltic Sea, which is located nearly in the center between Estonia and Finland. It is 12 km long as well as 1.5 to 4 km wide.

 

Kataja is a small island (0.71 sq.km) in the Bottnic sea bosom. Remarkable is the island because it is divided between Sweden and Finland. Two boundary stones and a Mark sheath are marking the border, which represent the most eastern point of Sweden. The extremely largest part of the uninhabited island belongs to Sweden.

 

Märket (Swedish and Finnish in each case Märket) is a flat rock, which rises on a surface from approximately 30.000 sq.m between the Swedish mainland and the Finnish Åland islands from the Baltic Sea.

 

Olkiluoto is an island at the coast of the province (Lääni) west Finland in the municipality Eurajoki. There are two nuclear power stations and an atomic ultimate waste disposal.

 

Seurasaari (schwed. Fölisön) is an island in the Finnish capital Helsinki. It is a popular trip goal, on the island is resident a free air exhibition with timber buildings from completely Finland. High point are the annual midsummer festivals on the island, with the whole family.
