Akdamar is the second largest island at the Vansee in the east of Anatolia. The island is now uninhabitated and is a popular excursion destination of the native population for swimming or to have a barbecue.

The Marmara island is a Turkish island at the Sea of Marmara in the proximity of the Dardanelles. There is a small open air museum, which particularly shows semi-manufactures from marble.
İmralı is the surface-moderately second largest island at the Sea of Marmara. The uninhabited Turkish island serves as prison island. Since 1999 there is Abdullah Öcalan as an only passenger arrested, which was the leader of the Kurdish labour party Kurdish worker's party.
